The Supreme Court struck a blow against the forces of evil this week, with it's courageous decision to permit the federal government to prosecute patients who use medical marijuana as a painkiller. Leaving doctors to make important decisions about a patient's health is highly irresponsible. After all, it's a well-known fact that half of all doctors in the US are less than average! Decisions of this importance must be left up to those who know what's best for us - i.e., the Federal Government.
Supreme Court ruling protects patients from Medical Marijuana

I must express my deep disappointment, however, at the wreckless decision by Justices William Rehnquist, Clarence Thomas and Sandra Day O'Connor, usually three of the High Court's most sensible members, to vote in favor of this insidious drug's use.
Some bleeding-heart liberals out there may try pointing to the numerous medical studies that claim to show the benefits of medical marijuana. What these liberals fail to mention, however, is that these so-called 'benefits' have not been scientifically proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. In fact, many rely strongly on the dubious testimonies of only a few hundred thousand patients who claim that the drug helps them to cope with their pain better than any of the legal alternatives. This so-called 'evidence' must obviously be ignored by any serious objective observer.
The dangerous side affects of Marijuana have been carefully documented, however. In one study, a rat that had been forced-fed with seven pounds of concentrated marijuana resin over a three day period actually died of an overdose. You don't often read about that in High Times now do you?
Other nasty side effects include: a false sense of euphoria, a highly disturbing feeling of relaxation, and even worse - an increase in appetite. Just stop and think about the poor patient dying of terminal cancer for a moment. Isn't it bad enough that many of them suffer untold pain from the ravages of chemotherapy without them now having to worry about getting fat!
But even worse. What would happen if these terminally ill patients became addicted to the stuff? Where would it all end? It may start out with patients smoking the odd joint for medicinal purposes now and then but pretty soon, it would end up with them mugging old ladies on the street to feed their $400 per day Crack habit!
I for one, would like to commend the Attorney General for bringing the case to the Court's attention in the first place and for taking a stance against these potentially violent criminals. After all, could there be anything more threatening to the American Way of Life than allowing terminally-ill patients to flagrantly flout our proud nation's laws just because they claim to be in chronic agonizing pain?
Well done, Mr Gonzalez. Keep up the good work!
